NTPC Barauni Unit 9 to generate 250 MW power

The Unit 9 of NTPC Limited’s Barauni Thermal Power Station (BTPS) in Bihar has successfully completed trial run operations and is set to generate 250 MW power.

The 72-hour full load trial run operations of the unit were conducted in compliance with Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) norms. The BarauniTPS currently has an installed capacity of 470 MW.  After the commercial augmentation of the new unit another 250 MW will be added to its generation capacity and the 720 MW BTPS will be entirely commercially operational.
