Vietnamese CPMB completes construction of 500 kV Doc Soi─Pleiku 2 line

Central Project Management Board (CPMB), a unit of state-owned Electricity of Vietnam (EVN), has completed the construction of the 500 kV, 209 km long Doc Soi‒Pleiku 2 transmission line.

The line is a component of the VND12,000 billion, 500 kV Vung Ang–Doc Soi–Pleiku 2 (Circuit 3) project, which is a 742 km long line project being developed to tackle the overload in the existing 500 kV Circuits 1 and 2 of the transmission line. The completion of the other two line components, namely the 38 km long, 500 kV Quang Trach‒Vung Ang and the 495 km long Quang Trach─Doc Soi lines, are also planned by the end of July. Circuit 3 will focus on power transmission from the Quang Trach electricity centre to the national electricity system. While the EVN’s subsidiary National Power Transmission Corporation (EVN NPT) has invested in the project, the CPMB, on behalf of EVN NPT, is responsible for project management.
