The construction of the 71 MW Nilgiri Khola II Cascade hydropower project has been completed at Narchang of Annapurna Rural Municipality, Myagdi in Nepal.
The test of power generation has commenced by the project developer, Nilgiri Khola Hydropower Company Limited. Meanwhile, the construction of Humkhola Dam and Chotepa Power House of Nilgiri I has reached the final stage. About 80 per cent of the physical progress of Nilgiri I has been accomplished. Both are run-of-river projects and are estimated to cost NPR13 billion. Electricity generated from the Nilgiri project is connected to the central grid through the 220 kV Dana substation. A 7.4-km, 220 kV transmission line connecting the Dana substation through Chotepa–Dobilna has been constructed for power evacuation from the hydropower plant.
