Norfund invests USD75 million in South Africa’s Mulilo Energy

Norfund has invested USD75 million in Mulilo Energy Holdings by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP).

The investment gives Norfund a minority stake and will support Mulilo’s expanded project pipeline of over 30 GW. Mulilo was established in 2008 and focuses on wind, solar, and battery storage. It currently has 448 MW of operational assets and 765 MW under construction, with plans to add another 1 GW in 2026. CIP, which took a majority stake in March 2023, aims to develop Mulilo into a tier-one independent power producer with 5.5 GW expected to reach financial close by 2027.
