AESL secures long term financing from Japanese banks for ±800 kV HVDC project

Adani Energy Solutions Limited (AESL) has secured long-term financing from a consortium of Japanese banks for a high-voltage direct (HVDC) current transmission project to strengthen renewable energy evacuation across northern India.

The financing has been led by MUFG Bank and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation. The project involves the development of a ±800 kV HVDC transmission network with an evacuation capacity of 6,000 MW over a 950 km corridor connecting Bhadla in Rajasthan to Fatehpur in Uttar Pradesh. The project is scheduled for commissioning by 2029. The HVDC asset forms part of the Adani Group’s integrated clean energy platform.
