POWERGRID to implement transmission reconductoring project in West Bengal under RTM

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has been assigned the “ERES-48: Jeerat–Rajarhat–Subhasgram reconductoring” project in West Bengal under the regulated tariff mechanism (RTM) framework.

The project, estimated to cost about Rs 2.12 billion, is scheduled for completion in 30 months. It involves reconductoring three existing 400 kV single-circuit transmission lines with twin high-temperature low-sag (HTLS) conductors over a total length of about 140 ckt km. The lines covered are the 41 ckt km Jeerat–Rajarhat line, the 65 ckt km Jeerat–Subhasgram line and the 34 ckt km Rajarhat–Subhasgram line. The project also includes the upgradation of 400 kV bay equipment at the Jeerat, Rajarhat and Subhasgram substations to facilitate the use of HTLS conductors.
